The recent tragedy that has been unfolding in Easter Europe has brought out the most supportive side of the continent. Thousands of people of every age and nationality have come up with different ways to help those in Ukraine. Such is the case of International Youth Cooperation Finland who created a fundraising event for Ukrainian families.
In the fundraising event, young people from different countries prepared and sold different national dishes. The international menu contained Filipino noodles, Mexican quesadillas and Spanish paella, among others. This was thanks to the volunteers who not only dedicated their time to cooking, but also helped serving the people during the event and worked to draw attendees to the event. The gastronomic afternoon was wrapped with music brought by the Kuuletko Minua Project, who created a lively atmosphere.
Organized in collaboration with Young Caritas Sweden, IYC’s fundraising event’s proceeds were 100% destined to Caritas for the refugees of war. The generosity of the people exceeded expectations, where each the attendees was able to enjoy a good meal, pleasant conversation and some music all while supporting those families who need it most,
