A group of volunteers from IYC Spain departed from Zaragoza and traveled to Morocco to participate in an international volunteering project in collaboration with the Sisters of the Charity. The aim is to assist children at risk of poverty and provide them with resources and means of education and sports activities, mainly football.
The timetable of the project is split into two parts: one dedicated to practicing football and learning values through playing and competing alongside teammates, and the other one to taking classes and receiving educational support and help with school tasks.
The experience shows how useful is to combine sport and personal development. We have found a great channel in which participants experience great growth and feel special and motivated. They are very generous and are always willing to spend whatever amount of time needed to learn just a bit more than the previous day.
