This past 21 December, our team from IYC Magyarország spent a meaningful afternoon accompanying elderly residents at the Erzsébet Hospital in Budapest. Around 20 young volunteers took part in this simple but deeply heartfelt Christmas activity.
We sang Christmas carols, brought them sweets, and—most importantly—spent time talking with them. Even though we only have a couple of photos from the day, they capture a small piece of the warmth and human connection we experienced.
For many of the residents, this visit was a welcome moment of companionship during the festive season. And for our volunteers, it was a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful gifts we can offer are our presence, our voice, and our time.
A small gesture from our corner of the world, but one that made Christmas a bit brighter for everyone involved.
