It has been a very active month for IYC Suomi, marked by steady progress in our projects, consistent weekly activities, and new opportunities to connect with young people across Helsinki.
On the project side, our team has been preparing new proposals to submit to the European Union, working to expand our impact and secure support for future initiatives. At the same time, our weekly activities have continued as planned—Food Distribution, Cooking for Others, and Moments for Others—thanks to the dedication of our volunteers who show up week after week.
January was also a month of strong outreach. We presented our NGO to students at Ressu IB World School and Ressun lukio, as well as at Hanken School of Economics, introducing our mission and inviting young people to discover the power of volunteering.
Finally, some of our volunteers have been eager to share their personal experiences and reflections. We are now collecting a series of short stories that will be used both in our communications and in future project applications—real voices that capture what volunteering means to them and the impact it has on their lives.
Step by step, IYC Suomi continues to grow as a community rooted in service, connection, and the desire to build a more caring society.
