As in every edition, the Social Initiatives Forum launched by International Youth Cooperation rewards the best project boosted by the youth, with the objective of promoting the creation of projects actually making an impact in society.
This year the selected projects are developed in Poland, Mexico, India, Spain, Senegal, Colombia, South Africa, Chile and Asia-Pacific.
The initiatives set out range from migrant’s accompaniment and help, skills development of younger children for transforming society and offering them a better future, educate and integrate through music, transform and inculcate values to youth through sport, create a medical dispensary for a community with lack of resources, a youth leadership program as change makers, etc… these are some of the programs submitted in this edition.
This year, the winner was CivAsia. CivAsia is an annual three day conference. Each year, the theme of the conference challenges young leaders to act towards the positive progression of society through talks given by esteemed speakers and the active participation of delegates in contests such as business proposal writing or advocacy campaigns and through engaging with various non-profit organizations. Examples of themes include: ASEAN integration, Saving the Environment, Youth Empowerment in the Philippine Society, and the first four United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.
